On Monday, May 5th, Lindsay Moore, a local author and illustrator visited East Jordan Elementary School. She spoke about how she became an author, what tools she uses, what inspires her writing, and even shared her new book "Sunbird" with our students!
During our assembly, EJ Proud tickets were drawn out of our tank and students were able to choose which one of Lindsay Moore's books they wanted to take home! Congratulations to Shayla Yettaw, Waylon Folsom, Saydee Campbell, and Kree Montgomery for our book winners!
If you would like to order a signed copy of one of Lindsay Moore's books for your child, please fill out the half-sheet order form that was sent home yesterday. Order forms should be filed out and returned by Monday, May 12th!

On Friday May 2, please wear Rayder colors of maroon and white, Charlevoix school or community apparel, maroon ribbons, or other ways to show support for the district. Students and staff are encouraged to create posters and messages of support, and share photos of all activities with the hashtag, #RAYDERSTRONG. We want to flood social media with messages of support and encouragement to students, their families, the school district, and the community.

Class of 2025 Community Service Day
Today our seniors took part in our annual Earth Day community service project! We feel it is important for our students to give back to their community before they leave us, and today was a beautiful day to do just that!
Our seniors cleaned up the Mill St. Park, the pickleball courts, the downtown and harborfront area, and concluded our time at Tourist Park, cleaning up the area in preparation for the summer season and planting a tree at the park entrance!
Thank you, City of East Jordan, Tim Cannon, city manager, and Mary Faculak, president of our Chamber of Commerce for allowing us the opportunity to serve!!
And thank you, SENIORS, for your willingness and positive attitude while you served. You make us EJ Proud!!
