EJPS Maple Syrup Open House
Friday, April 4th
10-2pm
EJ Elementary School Garden
As we recover and regroup from our recent Spring storm, join us at the Elementary School for a moment of sweetness and warmth. This Friday, April 4th, from 10 to 2, we'll be in the Happy Heart Garden boiling sap into syrup.
It's Sugaring Season! The collection of sap from the Sugar Maple tree and making it into Maple syrup and Maple sugar is an invention of the Anishinaabe, and each year EJPS carries on the tradition with students tapping trees and collecting the sap to process.
Students and families are welcome to stop by for a taste of the sweet sap on its way to being syrup, a Springtime tradition since time immemorial.
Hope to see you there!

Dear Red Devil Families,
Due to the ongoing state of emergency and continued disruptions to power and internet service across our region, East Jordan Public Schools will remain closed through the end of the week, with plans to resume classes on Monday, April 7.
We know many families are facing significant challenges right now, and we want to be part of the support system for our community. While we are eager to welcome students back, the logistics of safely and effectively reopening—particularly with technology and communication systems still down—remain a hurdle we need a little more time to address.
In the meantime, we will be offering the following support services:
Free lunches will be available at the East Jordan Middle High School Cafeteria on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4, from 11:30AM to 1:00 PM each day.
Thursday: Spaghetti and Caesar Salad
Friday: Pizza with fruit and vegetables
Showers will also be available during these times in the pool locker rooms for anyone who would like to use them.
We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more, and we remain hopeful that conditions will improve in the coming days. Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and support for one another.
Take care,
--

East Jordan Public Schools Earns Silver Innovation Recognition for School Safety Excellence

Adopting new systems always comes with challenges, but our staff has embraced CrisisGo’s technology to strengthen our ability to respond in critical moments. A tool is only as effective as the people using it, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in making safety a priority for our students, staff, and community.
At EJPS, student safety isn’t just a policy—it’s a commitment. This recognition reflects the collective effort of our school family, parents, and community in ensuring that our schools remain safe and secure environments for learning.
Thank you to everyone who has played a role in making this possible. This is something to be proud of.

Our elementary school Book Fair was once again, a great success! Thanks to our wonderful students, staff, families and community members! We are so grateful for all your support. Also a huge thank you to Mrs. Gee and her volunteers for always doing such a wonderful job decorating and running the book fair.

All of our elementary school students received a free new book and bookmark from Mrs. Gee who purchased these books from our scholastic earnings! Just in time for March is Reading Month!

Thanks to a Malpass mini grant that Mrs. Gee received, she brought to our elementary school Magician Baffling Bill. He did an amazing magic show for all our elementary students and staff. The students had a blast and enjoyed seeing Gus the bunny! It was so good to see the students really engaged and enjoying the show!
