EJPS is . . . "A Great Place to Learn"
Dear Parents, Students and Community:
It’s hard to believe, but summer is almost over and school will be starting in just a few weeks! I hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. We've had a great summer EJPS and have been busy preparing for another school year rich with opportunities and challenges for every student. I welcome everyone back for another fantastic year in 2019-20.
With the upgrades and enhancements to our buildings last summer, we have been busy working on follow up projects and furniture replacement this summer. These projects combined with our normal summer cleaning schedule has truly been a busy time and our “summer makeover” is nearly complete. Students and staff will be truly amazed at all of the transformations that have taken place. I am confident that these changes will springboard the 19-20 school year into one of the best ever at EJPS!
While the new school year will be a different one with our updates around the district, some aspects of a new school year remain the same. Students are happy to be back to a routine and to be with their friends . . .they are also curious about who their teacher will be and what new adventures will be explored in their classroom. Parents are likewise happy their children are back into a routine, curious about this year’s teacher(s), yet slightly uneasy knowing that another school year means their child is one step closer to the next stage in their life.
The faculty and staff of EJPS return from a busy summer of reflection, professional development, and time for learning at a different pace. New staff has joined an experienced and talented group of educators that we are fortunate to have in our classroom and schools. They will bring their excitement and talents to the classroom with an understanding that we are helping our students become successful learners not only in school but, more importantly, outside the school doors. Students will be challenged,
but we will endeavor not to lose the balance that comes with encouraging creativity, exploring the unknown, and celebrating the gains.
I hope that each of you enjoys the remaining days of summer. I look forward to a year filled with stories of great success and great learning. I cannot wait for September 3rd, opening day to a great school year.
