...preparing students for their futures
We
are proud to offer a comprehensive curriculum that’s personalized to
help students achieve educational excellence. Course options range
from college preparatory to Career and Technical Education classes,
all designed to help students have a positive transition from school
to the world of work or to post-secondary education.

Athletics,
band, choir, drama, debate, and forensics are just a few of the
co-curricular options available to
East
Jordan
High School students.
-
Thanks to the
generous support of the Charlevoix County Community Foundation,
60 EJHS students attended an off-Broadway musical production at
Michigan State University.
-
The
School-to-Work Coordinator works closely with area business and
industrial leaders to provide job shadowing, mentoring,
apprenticeship and employment experiences for High School
students. Nearly 190 students and 141 businesses participated
in these options during the 2006-2007 school year.

During the
2006-2007 school year, 84 percent of the students at the High
School were represented by a parent at parent-teacher
conferences.

In addition to
the counseling department, East Jordan High School has a
Transition Coach who assists senior students and their families
with their college plans, including campus visitations,
financial aid, college and scholarship applications, and much
more.

As are all of our
schools, East Jordan High School is fully accredited at the North
Central Association Commission on Accreditation's highest level.

EJHS DECCA students qualified for national competition in
Dallas, Texas. The team competed in a management-level program
with an emphasis on financial analysis.

ThEJHS
faculty members earned more than $8,500 in competitive grants
supporting innovative classroom projects. The grants were
funded by The Malpass Foundation and the EJ Learning Alliance
-
EJHS BPA students qualified for national competition in Orlando,
Florida. The students competed in the administrative support
and financial math/analysis categories.

The dropout rate for EJHS is
1.65% and the retention rate is 98.35%.
-
80% of EJHS students participated in one or
more co-curricular programs in athletics, band, choir and
the dramatic arts
