Character in Action . . .

  • A chapter of the National Junior Honor Society was established at the Middle School in 2005-2006.  Qualifying students met strict requirements in the areas of leadership, scholarship, character and service.

  • Local business leaders serve as mentors to Elementary School students through the Junior Achievement Program, which provides lessons in “elementary” economics!

  • EJHS sponsored several parent seminars in 2005-2006, aimed at giving parents the tools they need to help their children to make positive life choices and decisions.

  • Job-shadowing and mentorship experiences give EJHS students an opportunity to observe and interact with professional people in professional settings.

  • High School and Middle School students annually participate in the Toys for Tots and Holiday Food Drive activities, in support of the less fortunate in our region.

  • With the support of the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, and in cooperation with the Friends of the Jordan, high school National Honor Society members conduct an annual clean-up of the Jordan River.
