an asset to our curriculum

In addition to solid basic skill instruction, East Jordan Public Schools invests in a new basic, technological literacy.

  •  East Jordan Public Schools boasts a ratio of three-to-one when comparing students to instructional multi-media computers. The state average is six-to-one, and the national average is seven-to-one.

  • 100 percent of computers throughout the district are Pentium II or higher machines, a level that far exceeds Michigan’s average of 66 percent, and the nation’s average of 61 percent.

  • Students at the Elementary School enjoy two state-of-the-art technology labs, as well as computers in every classroom.

  • Students at the Middle School benefit from two state-of-the-art, classroom-size, technology labs, while mini-labs are also located adjacent to each academic classroom.

  • Students at the High School access four state-of-the-art technology labs.  Most Middle School and High School classrooms also feature plasma monitors or digital projectors.

  • The district’s technology network runs at one gigabyte, allowing the network to deliver 10 times the data as in the past, while preparing the district for technologies of the future, including video streaming.

  •  The district network also sports a Storage Area Network (SAN) that allows for one terabyte (that’s a lot of data) to be stored at the network level.

  •  The technology network is backed up daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.  A process that took 24 hours in the past now takes only 30 minutes!

Educational technology encompasses the tools and strategies to problem solve, access information, increase productivity, and enhance personal growth.
