Students, parents, educators, and
community leaders work together to achieve excellence in our schools
and to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Parents and other community members are welcome partners in all our
school activities!

All East Jordan
Elementary School students participate in a community service
project each year.

National Honor
Society students at East Jordan High School spent more than 1,500
hours in support of a wide range of community service projects
last year, including the Care & Share Food Pantry, collecting
presents for needy families during the holidays, participating in
Michigan’s “Adopt-a-Highway” program, and working with the Friends
of the Jordan on a Jordan River clean-up day.

2006-2007 saw continued upgrades to
www.ejps.org, making the website even more informative
and attractive for our web visitors, and also saw the addition of
CenterPoint, a web-based communication tool that connects parents
with teachers.

Thanks to the generosity of the East
Jordan community, members of the Class of 2007 enjoyed more than
$92,000 in local scholarship support.

Each school building publishes a
regular newsletter for parents. The newsletters keep parents
informed about significant events, changes in the school schedule,
important deadlines, co-curricular schedules, and other
opportunities for students.

East Jordan Public Schools offer a
full range of evening enrichment courses for community members.
The courses are offered in fall, winter, and spring segments, and
there’s something for everyone!

The East Jordan Rotary Club’s STRIVE
program provided mentors for high school students who had been
identified as at-risk of dropping out of school.

The East Jordan High School Counseling
Department exhibits a strong commitment to keeping seniors and
their parents up to speed on
important dates, deadlines, college visitations, work/internship and
scholarship opportunities.

The volunteer East Jordan Sports
Booster and the East Jordan Learning Alliance organizations
provided more then $35,000 in enhancements for the school athletic
and academic programs in 2006-2007.

The
Charlevoix County Community Foundation and the Malpass
Foundation provided more the $30,000 in grant support for
innovative and necessary school programs in 2006-2007.

The Community Auditorium at East
Jordan High School offers regular concerts and other cultural
events for the enjoyment of the entire community.
